Taiwan IP Office (TIPO) has announced that the amended patent law will take effect Jan 1, 2013 and onwards.

The amendments mainly include:

1) Art 22 (grace period to include both novelty and non-obviousness),

2) Art 25 (waiver of assignment),

3) Art 29, 52 (revival of priority, patent issuance and annuity payment),

4) Art 79 (revocation on individual claim), and

5) Art 121 (partial design, ICON & GUI applicable)
